HUERI was informally established in the year 2007 when a team of fresh graduate professionals in the field of environment, social development, and researchers came together to undertake consultancy services at an individual level. It was formally registered in the year 2014 as a limited company. HUERI is based in Kisumu, Milimani Estate.
At HUERI's inception, our core business was the provision of Environmental Consultancy Services (Environmental Impact Assessments, Strategic Environmental Audits, Environmental Audits, and Processing of Regulatory permits/Licenses). However, over the years, we have expanded our service portfolio to include:
The firm and its associate members have undertaken several consultancies works in areas of Environmental and Social Impact Assessment, environmental audits, Resettlement Action Planning, and other general environmental assignments. HUERI has a Board of Directors, Head of Environmental Consultancy, Head of Administration, and over 15 associate Members. The HUERI secretariat is headed by an office manager and has a team of able administrative staff. The associate members are professionals who are assigned jobs according to their areas of specialization on a short-time, long-time, and full-time basis.
We have a pool of Consultants and Associates with strong academic credentials and invaluable experience in consultancy as well as community-based networks consisting of organizations and individuals we work with in the course of environmental management tasks. We shall, therefore, be able to carry out the tasks using the existing human potential and networks. We would also like to state that our pool of consultants and associates have first-hand experiences in the development of community-focused development programs cutting across different socio-economic sectors; including appropriate community development and community mobilization and natural resources management.
